We’re filled with immense gratitude and hope, all thanks to an extraordinary young man, Joshua Weber. For his Mitzvah Project, Joshua chose to dedicate his efforts to the Eastwood Ranch Foundation, and his compassion and dedication are truly a beacon of light for animals in need.
We are incredibly honored and grateful that Joshua chose to dedicate his Mitzvah Project to Eastwood Ranch Foundation. His journey began with a heartfelt understanding of a harsh reality that many animals face. Here are Joshua’s own words, which so powerfully capture his motivation:
“When I learned about animal euthanasia in shelters, it made me sad and angry, especially because it reminded me of saying goodbye to our family cat, Izzie. Though putting her down at 17 was the right decision, many animals are euthanized simply because they aren’t adopted in time or shelters lack space. Most shelters are high-kill, and overcrowding is a major issue.”
Joshua’s compassion led him to support our mission of rescuing pets from high-kill shelters in Southern California. After learning about the heartbreaking reality of animal euthanasia in overcrowded shelters, he was inspired to make a difference — in memory of his beloved cat, Izzie. His empathy speaks volumes, reminding us all why the fight for animal rights and welfare is so critical. Every day, countless innocent lives are at risk, simply due to a lack of space and resources. Our goal at Eastwood Ranch Foundation is to be a lifeline for these animals, pulling them from dire situations, nursing them back to health, and giving them the second chance they so desperately deserve in loving homes.

“I found the Eastwood Ranch Foundation, a non-profit that rescues pets from high-kill shelters in southern CA, nurses them back to health, and helps them find loving homes. For my mitzvah project, I raised $1,000 and collected blankets and towels to support the animals and staff at Eastwood Ranch!”
