How You’ll Help

ERF is an active rescue and adoption center. You’ll work onsite with staff to support animal care and maintain our facility.

Depending on your role, you’ll help with:

Walking and socializing dogs
Spending calm, positive time with cats
Cleaning, laundry, and prepping animal areas
Keeping animals safe and comfortable
Supporting adoption events, transport, or fundraising

By getting to know the animals and the work behind their care, you’ll become part of our caring volunteer community and an essential ambassador for our mission

Volunteer Requirements

ERF volunteer roles are hands-on, active, and team-based.
Volunteers must:

Be 16 or older
Attend in-person orientation
Complete onsite training
Manage schedules in VicNet
Volunteer regularly
Follow all safety, care, and handling procedures

Roles may involve walking, cleaning, lifting, and outdoor work. If you need an accommodation, we’ll help identify a good fit.

Tell Us Where You’ll Start

When you apply, you’ll choose your starting role: Canine Support or Feline Support.

This helps us plan volunteer training and schedules.

Dogs: walking, socialization, feeding, cleaning, laundry, setup, and facility support
Cats: socialization, cleaning, feeding, laundry, setup, and facility support

Starting with one role helps you build skills, get to know the animals and staff, and understand how the Ranch works. As you gain experience, you’ll be able to help in more ways.
